The One Stop Center at Capital Hospital Campus has been inaugurated at 10.30 AM today by Hon'ble Minister Women & Child Development, Planning and Coordination, Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Govt. of Odisha. The objective of the One Stop Center is to provide integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence and to facilitate immediate, emergency and non-emergency access to an integrated range of services including medical, legal and psychological and counseling support. The aggrieved girl/woman can access the One Stop Center by herself; with the help of any other person; through the medical facilities and through rescue by police or help line.
All women affected by violence, including girls below 18 years of age are to be provided services in the One Stop Center such as Medical Assistance; Assistance in lodging an FIR by linkage with the nearest Thana, Assistance in lodging a DIR(Domestic Incident Report under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act-2005) Protection Officer, Psycosocial support, counseling, legal aid by linkage with Khurda DLSA & Shelter (Ujjawala and Swadhara) run by implementing agency/people forum.
The Center is to be operated 24 hours with the help of qualified and competent staff such as Center Administrator, Case Workers-cum- Counsellors besides other support staff. Doctors, lawyers and police personnel will be available on call. The One Stop Center is furnished with 4 beds, pantry, toilets and provisions of food and medicine. The stakeholder departments are the Women & Child Development Department, Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar/Health & Family Welfare Department, Commissionerate of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cutack and State/District Legal Service Authority.
